Sex Appeal
What is sexy?
Sex appeal is speaking your mind and walking around with confidence. My biggest role models are those who are happy with themselves and are able to say, “This is me; accept it”. That’s a struggle for me every day. But I think of those who have that attitude and strive to be that way too. Do you have any thoughts or ideas as to how you’ve created your own positive beliefs? Please send them in. We can all learn from each other’s experiences. If you’d like to post your thoughts on this website, please email them to rmizuno@comcast.net. Thank you.
So my idea of being sexy is being a “mouth”. I’m a mouth. Not a loudmouth, but I like to use that which I consider a strong point to my advantage and for the benefit of others. I like to speak and write and advocate, and a lot of people I work with on Capitol Hill also make presentations around the country. I’d like to travel and talk about the ways in which I’ve gotten better. I will give a talk called “Nutrition & Exercise for those with Chronic Conditions” on August 11, 2010 at the Whole Health Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. Join me there for this free seminar and lots of exchange. We will have great, fun conversation. I am who I am, with no apologies.
There are lots of women who are inspiring change and courage in others through their fundraising events and talent. Check out fashion designers: Lauire Elyse: http://www.laurieelysecollection.com/news.html, Natalia Romano: http://www.poshglam.com/natalia-romano-fashion-show-to-benefit-the-lupus-research-institute/, superstar Mary Norton: http://www.lupusny.org/downloads/enewsletters/november07.html, and model (Vince Vaughn’s wife): http://ursupermodelswildorchid.eventbrite.com/.
If you want to be a “mouth” too, please join me. Become a lobbyist on Capitol Hill for the Lupus Research Institute. This is a fun and enlightening experience. You will be trained on how to deliver your pitch to house of representatives. This process works. Because of the LRI’s lupus “blitz”, congress has created a lupus-education program for our medical students. This is a very effective step, as previously, lupus was barely taught in school. Of course, doctor knowledge will increase early diagnosis. And for me, this was the key to success: eventually living a normal, healthy life. Other people will benefit from this program. Consequently, a cure will soon be delivered.
